You want your business to impress potential investors, clients, and partners from the moment they walk in the front door, and in order to do this you have to maximize the potential of your commercial space. A focal point immediately captures the attention of anyone in the room, and this is the best way to make an optimal first impression in the entry space. Create a focal point for a large commercial space using these simple tips and ideas:

Utilize Your Company Logo

A company logo says something about your company, and it can become an excellent focal point in a large commercial space. The logo can be painted directly on the wall surface or a sign company can create laser cut decals that can be positioned on the wall. Consider adding modern metal wall art that complements your company’s logo, live plants or furnishings in bold colors to make your local a true work of art. A focal point like this is considered a work of art, so it can be displayed against a focal wall or directly in the center of the room for maximum impact, especially if the logo is large and bold.

Choose a Water Feature

Water features add aesthetic value and are very calming, both excellent ideas for a welcoming entry space. Greet your customers with peace and you can add peace to that all-important first meeting as well, which can improve your chances of having an overall positive interaction. Fountains are among the most popular water features, and they look great as focal points in a large commercial building with proper maintenance, although a large aquarium is also a great choice to add a feeling of life to the space’s environment. Keep in mind that all types of water features will need care to stay looking great, and anything living will need attention in order to survive; this should be considered carefully before you make an expensive purchase.

Striking Color Contrasts

Artwork is a very common choice as a focal point, even in commercial buildings, so you want to choose something that really stands out to create a big impact. Striking color contrasts, such as a black and white modern art statue, are very bold choices, and they work very well with contemporary decor. If specific colors are a part of your company logo, you can also choose a piece of art that utilizes the same colors as the logo and then add a small version of the logo elsewhere in the room to add cohesive flow. Bold colors such as red and white or black and a metallic shade are also good ideas, so long as they coordinate with the rest of the room’s decor.

Simple, Contemporary Style

To coordinate with your focal point, keep the rest of the room simple, so that nothing detracts from the look of the focal item. A busy, densely-decorated space adds a feeling of chaos in the room, and it can overwhelm anyone who works or visits your commercial space. Better to choose a simple contemporary wall decor that contains the colors used in the space; oversized wall art is ideal for large walls where great impact is needed.
